A Dessicant dryer is a vessel that contains a salt media that dehydrates gas as the gas passes through the salt media. The salt media must be replenished on a routine basis to maintain drying capability. This it a non-regenerative media and method of dehydrating natural gas. The design is comparable to a Mol-Sev but on a much smaller scale. Dessicant dryers are a very small, normally in the 8" to 24" range, they are placed near the cleanest source of higher pressure gas for a charging source. Also known as desi dryers, salt dryers, gas-salt dryers, mini-mol-sev. If the inlet conditions are just right this is a very cheap way to clean up fuel gas for a burner or even a compressor.
